All of the products that you buy on our online store are made by a real person in the kitchen that cares about its customers. For the time being we don’t have any employee working for us. It is run by an artisan, which funded the Vegenero company in 2016 in Limassol, Cyprus. The efforts was to provide an alternative to the mainstream beauty product companies that promote and sell products that are full of synthetic detergents, harsh chemicals, artificial colors, harmful preservatives and parabens. Our concept is that our beauty products are made as natural and homemade as possible, created with Mother’s Natures ingredients and providing no harm to our planet. Our products are 100% Vegan & Vegetarian friendly.
All of our products are completely Vegan and we do not use Palm Oil. Our brand is certified by PETA (people for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) as cruelty-free & vegan. No animal is harmed for the production of our beauty products. This includes animal testing, animal cruelty, using animal by-products or any part of the animal before, during or after the production of our products. You can be certain that our products are developed with methods that do not involve experimentation on animals during any stage of product development. Our ingredient suppliers make the same pledge and the result is a product guaranteed to be 100% free of animal testing. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not require animal testing for cosmetics. There are sufficient existing safety data as well as in vitro alternatives to make animal testing for these products obsolete.
Vegenero is a Member of the Guild of Craft Soap & Toiletry Makers. This certification ensures you as a customer that our products have been safety tested by laboratory and meet legal requirements under EU Regulation 1223/2009 (Cosmetics Regulation).
Vegenero is 100% honest in what goes into our products. Our products are considered natural and we use some organic. As for preservation of our products, we use the safest Eco approved preservatives that are safe and paraben-free and come from natural sources without the harmful chemicals. We usually try to avoid adding preservatives, and only use when it is a product that can have contact with water such as a scrub or hair mask for example. We feel very strongly that some skincare products need to be preserved 100% effectively. The so-called ‘preservative-free’ products can be a health hazard and we ensure our products are safe to use by consumers.
We are NOT certified organic by any certification board. We do use alot of organic ingredients in our products, but we decided AGAINST certification because it dramatically reduces the amount of active ingredients available for us to use in our range. Vegenero only chooses ingredients that work, not ingredients due to their organic certified status. We made this decision, because there is very little scientific evidence that skincare 100% in organic products is actually better for you. One of the main reason we use organic as much as possible is because it is more ethical and offers better life conditions for the animals and ensures that animals are treated humanely, or, to be brutally honest, as humanely as possible. We also prefer it, as it protects the environment through legally binding standards that prevent pollution, and ban herbicides and artificial fertilisers.
Alot of cosmetics companies use ingredients that lead to breakouts or can irritate sensitive and acne-prone skin. Our products will not clog pores or worsen the condition of problematic skin types. Our vegan range is composed of soothing, non-comedogenic ingredients that balance the skin rather than irritate it, so ideal for many problematic skins. You can find an index on our shopping page according to your skin type needs.
Yes, our products are unisex. Both men and women can enjoy the same benefits of our vegan nutritional skincare.
We mainly use 99% essential oils that are naturally derived from their plant source by steam distillation or cold-pressed. We do though have some products that use natural and safe fragrance oils and you can find them under the ingredients list. The fragrance oils that are sometimes used in a couple of our products, can usually be blends of essential oils cut with a carrier oil or we might use some natural aromatic fragrance oils because of the variety of fragrances available that cant be reproduced. For example there is no essential oil of watermelon, and some of our customers have requested we can provide them with many more scent variety. Natural though doesn’t always mean safe. Arsenic is natural, after all. And if you’re allergic to something, say roses, you would not be using natural “rose absolutes”.
Essential oils are in fact natural but that doesn’t mean one cannot have an allergic reaction. There are fragrances that people don’t get any allergic reactions too. We avoid using some fragrance oils out there because so many fragrance oils are made from petrochemicals and then diluted with dipropylene glycol or isopropyl myristate. Natural fragrance oils, however, are NOT. Natural fragrance oils are blends of isolates that are derived through many of the exact same processes that are used to get essential oils. The difference is in whether you are extracting an entire compound (essential oil) or a single molecule (natural isolate).
They weigh around 100gr-110gr. The shape varies slightly due to its handmade nature, but generally they are approximately 8cm x 5.5cm x 2.5cm
It is recommended to keep your soap as dry as possible, in order for it to last longer. Make sure you place the soap on a draining soap dish, in order to allow the water to evaporate after each use. It should never be left sitting in streams of water, as it will make the soap soft and reduce its shell life.
The typical shell life of our soap is about a year depending on the climate. You can prolong your soap by keeping it in a dry and cool environment away from heat and moisture. As our soaps are completely natural, they can be prone to rancidity (the smell can subside with time). We never had any complaints, because our customers use our products as soon as they receive them as they smell so good. Besides why would you store your soap away for a long time?
Store-bought soap bars might be less expensive than handmade soaps but this is based on the manufacturing process and ingredients. Store bought soap is not soap at all, but instead loaded with harsh detergents. Many store bought soap manufacturers use tallow, or beef fat, as the base of their soap. They also extract the glycerin that is produced during the soap making process. Glycerin is a humectant, meaning it attracts and retains moisture in the skin. Soap manufacturers extract this glycerin from their soap to use in other high end beauty products. They replace it with synthetic detergents that are harsh and drying to the skin. Then they add synthetic “moisturizers” for label appeal.
Our Handmade soap retains all of the natural glycerin that is produced, and some of the oils that were not completely utilized during the saponification process. As a result, our handmade soap washes the dirt off of your skin, while the residual glycerin and oils naturally moisturize your skin afterwards. There is no more need for lotion after using a handmade soap. You will come to find that your skin will be much smoother and supple after switching to our handmade soaps. It is really a small luxury you can provide for yourself, and Mother Nature’s way of cleansing your skin.
We make our soaps the old fashioned way with the very same technique our ancestors made from the very beginning of soap making. We use both the Cold and Hot process method of making soaps. The only difference in both of these methods is just its appearance. The Cold process method gives a smoother, more sophisticated bar of soap and the Hot process method gives the soap a raw, rustic and textured look.
Our products are eco-friendly thus the ingredients that are used can be broken down in a reasonable amount of time, into its base compounds by micro-organisms and other living things, regardless of what those compounds may be. It does not leave any waste behind to affect our planet.
